The ATHENA project consortium has developed a YouTube video summarizing its Recommendations on integrating Accessibility and Universal Design into Higher Education curricula. 

The recommendations are addressed to educators, programme creators, policymakers, and other stakeholder groups. Watch the video and discover them all!

Brussels, April 3, 2025 – The European Disability Forum (EDF) hosted the final event of the Athena Project, funded by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) as part of the Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership action. The event brought together stakeholders from across Europe educators, policymakers, students, and accessibility advocates from across Europe to discuss how to embed accessibility and universal design principles into higher education curricula.

ATHENA intervention on Global Accessibility Awareness Day

On Global Accessibility Awareness Day last May, the ATHENA project - Bringing Accessibility and Design for All into Higher Education Curricula was featured in the webinar "Advancing Digital Accessibility: Unlocking Inclusion, Innovation, and Business Growth", organised by the Contentsquare Foundation. Roberta Lulli, Accessibility Policy Officer at the European Disability Forum, represented the project consortium in the event.

Bringing Accessibility and Design for All into Higher Education Curricula: Findings from the ATHENA Project’s Transnational Report.

The ATHENA Project aims to bring Accessibility and Design for All into Higher Education by developing recommendations on how to implement curriculum on accessibility across academic disciplines. EDF and ATHENA Project partners have completed the first step of this project through the publication of a transnational report that presents the findings of the first work package of the project. The report will serve as the project’s foundation on which all of the project’s efforts will be based.
