Autonomous University of Barcelona

TransMedia Catalonia research group at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) has been involved as leaders or participants in many Erasmus+ projects related to accessibility. ACT, led by UAB, researched accessibility in the scenic arts and defined a new professional profile (accessibility expert in this field). It also developed a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) to train new professionals, now available in Coursera-UAB. ADLAB (Lifelong Access for the Blind), with UAB participants and its follow-up project ADLAB PRO, also with UAB participation, defined a series of audio description guidelines and the audio describer's profile. A series of training materials were developed. In EASIT, led by Anna Matamala (UAB) from 2018 until 2021, easy-to-understand communication was the central topic, and a training platform has been produced with a wealth of training materials in multiple formats and languages. The project was recently selected as “best practice”.
